主 题：结构/机制解释与宇宙大爆炸后结构/机制关系的发展

概 要：Structure/mechanism explanation is the core of sociological analysis. But why does it have to be? For example, why is the explanation in physics centering on laws rather than the structures/mechanisms? And what is the relationship between structures and mechanisms in sociology? Specifically, do structures determine mechanisms or vice versa, or are there any other kinds of explanations? Driven by these confusions, I integrate my physics, chemistry, biology, and social sciences knowledge to propose a unified model that captures a constantly evolving and complex relationship between structure/mechanism, formed immediately after the Big Bang. Based on this model, I discuss how the structure-mechanism relationship evolves, what are the patterns behind, as well as what are the model’s implications for social analyses.

主讲人：赵鼎新，浙江大学社会学系系主任、教授，芝加哥大学Max Palevsky讲座荣休教授。1982年本科毕业于复旦大学生物学系。1990年在加拿大McGill大学获昆虫生态学博士后，1995年在McGill获社会学博士学位。1996年起执教于芝加哥大学社会学系。研究领域包括政治社会学、历史社会学和社会科学方法论。中文专著有《社会与政治运动讲义》、《东周战争和儒法国家的形成》、《民主的限制》、《合法性的政治》以及《国家、战争与历史发展：前现代中西模式的比较》。英文专著Power of Tiananmen 由芝加哥大学出版社出版，并获得美国社会学学会2001年度亚洲研究最佳书籍奖以及2002年度集体行动和社会运动研究最佳书籍奖。英文专著The Confucian-Legalist State 于2015年由牛津大学出版社出版，获美国社会学学会2016年度政治社会学研究最佳书籍奖。荣获南风窗“2022中国社会价值年度榜——年度学者”。

评议人：刘世定，北京大学社会学系荣休教授、浙江大学求是讲座教授。近年主要从事的研究工作包括：制度和制度变迁研究，特别是中国的企业产权制度变迁研究；金融组织研究；博弈论和社会学。从学科角度看，特别关注在经济学和社会学互动中的经济社会学研究。

主持人：陈宗仕，浙江大学社会学系教授，博士生导师，社会学研究所所长。加州大学伯克利分校社会学博士。他的研究领域包括经济社会学、组织社会学、环境社会学。
