Jan Harm Schutte，芝加哥大学人类学博士，现任浙江大学社会学系新百人计划研究员（第二类）。研究兴趣包括人类学、语言人类学和传播学。
个人介绍
我是一名语言人类学家，我的研究涉及亚非语言和交流的政治经济学，以及第三世界国家的相互关系。我在研究中使用了话语分析、民族志、档案工作以及各种其他社会科学方法。我的论文涉及语言、种族和历史的符号学和政治经济学，关注在北京的非洲学生与他们的中国同龄人的互动。根据这项研究，我最近出版的专著是: Angloscene: Compromised Personhood in Afro-Chinese Translations (University of California Press, Spring 2023)。我目前从事三个新书项目：第一个项目探讨历史作为日常政治交流中的一种公共语言技术；第二个项目是关于全球化的中医商品，尤其是南部非洲野生动物和国际环保话语；第三个项目是关于在南非政治话语中使用多种语言、民主人格和大众调解的修辞策略。
我所有的研究都来源于与我的学生、同事、导师和报道人的共同合作，我认为教学和辅导学生是指导我自己研究的一个重要部分。因此，我很乐意就广泛的研究主题和多学科方法为学生提供辅导或与学生合作，以符号学或互动论的视角来共同探索社会科学问题。欢迎研究生和本科生来找我讨论他们当前或未来的研究项目。
