主题:Adventures in Prototyping
时间:2024年4月18日(周五)18:30-20:30
地点:浙江大学紫金港西区成均苑8幢1017
简介:My approach to fieldwork and to knowledge production was transformed by working in a design school for over a decade. In this talk, I will focus on the ways in which designerly processes of prototyping with materials, technologies, and tools can provide provocative, surprising, and delightful experiences for ethnographic researchers and their interlocutors. Whether making maps intended for use by a single individual, jerry rigging simple technologies for creative misuse, producing "bad photogrammetry," or working with craftspeople to not just reproduce but improve traditional tools that are no longer being made, these explorations feature playfulness and diy spirit that expands the anthropological toolkit in exciting ways.
