    Kurtuluş Gemici (Ph.D., UCLA) is a comparative-historical sociologist working on economic sociology, political economy, and sociological theory. His empirical work examined international capital mobility, financial integration across borders, economic crises, economic development, financial networks, and housing regimes. His comparative-historical analysis probed into social transformations in Chile, South Korea, Turkey, and United States. His theoretical work probed into sociology of markets, embeddedness, money, and commodity fiction. His previous publications include articles in leading journals such as Socio-Economic Review, Theory & Society, Sociological Theory, Mobilization, Regional Studies, and Politics & Society. He is currently completing a book on the origins of neoclassical economics.
